Conservancy works in Chennai to be done at night time to avoid hindrance to the public etc!!

At present, night conservancy in Chennai has been carried out by GCC in 134 bus route roads plus in the 55 interior roads and markets etc. It is now revealed that GCC has taken a decision to extend the night conservancy by beginning operations in 5 more zones. Truth is that GCC would be moving its conservancy operations in the night to avoid hindrance to the public, traffic etc during the day time.
Point is that GCC directly conducts conservancy operations in places like Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Thiru Vi- Ka Nagar, Anna Nagar and Ambattur. As per the Chennai Corporation press release it was clear that during the operation as many as 1520 bins are cleared and 456 tonnes of waste are collected. The press release mentioned that the night conservancy would be extended on 123 bus route roads and 96 interior roads in Chennai. Beginning from Thursday, 174 tonnes of garbage would be removed from these roads belonging to the Chennai city.
Information collected is that as many as 2688 workers have been used by GCC and private operators to carry out works on 1325 roads. During the night operations, 2530 tonnes of garbage are being collected. It is now said that similar expansion of conservancy operations would be introduced in the remaining 10 zones too.
