This many COVID vaccine doses now given to the traders belonging to the Koyambedu market

Traders belonging to the popular Koyambedu wholesale market in the Chennai city received Covid-19 vaccine shots from Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC. Till Saturday, as many as 10,032 vaccine doses including first and second doses have been given to the traders and drivers. This was confirmed by data belonging to the Chennai Corporation.
To vaccinate the traders, a special camp has been functioning permanently at the Koyambedu market is known. This was according to an officer belonging to GCC. He added that from 1st June around 6000 vaccination doses have been given. More than 21.85 lakh Covid-19 vaccination doses have been given by the civic body and of those 22552 were given on Saturday. In all the 15 GCC zones, the number of active Coronavirus cases has come down to below 1000 now. Point to be noted is that the recovery rate in Chennai is around 97%.
It is learnt that Chennai`s growth rate has come down to minus 7.6%. Important zones like Valasaravakkam and Perungudi have recorded a growth rate of minus 12.3% each. Various other GCC zones such as Toindiarpet zone, Royapuram zone and Tiruvottiyur zone have got growth rates of minus 3.5%, minus 4% and minus 4.1% respectively.
