Fino points provide government relief beneficiaries access to cash

In 2020 during the nationwide lockdown, the alternate banking channel of Fino Payments Bank proved critical for the beneficiaries of government’s direct benefit transfer (DBT) funds. Now in 2021, Fino’s vast merchant network is again doing what it does best, provide access to cash to the needy.
To support the economically weaker section of population whose livelihood got impacted due to restrictions amidst rising Covid cases, the Maharashtra government announced a relief package of Rs. 5476 crore. Under various schemes, the state government will provide construction workers Rs 1500 each, while under Khawati scheme each tribal family will receive Rs 2000. Further, about 5 lakh hawkers and 12 lakh rickshaw pullers will get financial assistance of Rs 1500 each. The amount will be directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account. DBT beneficiaries having accounts in any bank can withdraw cash from the nearest Fino Payments Bank point at their convenience.
