Chennai streets with more than 10 COVID cases have tripled in just 10 days

Many would have known that the Covid-19 cases in Chennai have been increasing day by day but not many would have known that the streets with more than 10 positive cases have tripled in just 10 days. As on Thursday, 29th April 2021, there were 375 streets in Chennai that have more than 10 cases.
A data has been released by the Chennai Corporation and as per the data it was clear that zones like Teynampet and Royapuram have got the highest number such streets of 83 and 74 respectively.
As many as 38 streets in Kodambakkam zone have more than 10 cases and 33 streets in Adyar zone have more than 10 cases. It is learnt that as many as 993 streets in Chennai have got more than 6 cases now. Royapuram zone has as many as110 streets of more than 6 cases and 179 streets in Teynampet zone. Many steps have been taken now as the containment measures by GCC. This was according to the official belonging to GCC.
Point is that GCC is erecting flex banners in the streets with more than 3 cases. The civic body is also placing S shaped barricades to slow down the movement of people on streets with 6 cases. He then mentioned that physical barricading is being done on the streets having more than 10 cases.
It has been brought out now that the Chennai residents have been asked to submit filled-in forms at PHCs if they were unable to get Covaxin as the second dose.
