Posted on: 30/Apr/2021 9:14:03 AM
A GO has been issued by the TN government and it mentioned extending the lockdown until further orders providing small relaxations for the political party agents on the vote counting day.

It is now said that night curfew and total lock down on the Sundays would continue with certain restrictions on permitted activities for the control of Covid-19 spread. This was mentioned in the GO by the TN state secretary Mr. Rajeev Rajan.

On Friday, the ongoing phase of lock down restrictions would be ending and the existing orders on the restrictions shall continue. Point is that there would be no restrictions on Saturdays as of now.

On 2nd May 2021, there would not be any restrictions in the movement of the officers, party functionaries, chief agents, candidates, food suppliers, counting agents etc in connection with the vote counting. This was revealed by the TN government. On Sundays, metro trains would be permitted to operate skeletal services. It must be noted that the TN government has given relaxations for other fields and these included ban lifting on shooting of TV serials and films etc.

To impose necessary restrictions at the districts, sub-districts, city and ward level, power has been issued to the local administration.

Information is that police department officials, health department officials, revenue, disaster management officials etc have met the chief secretary and discussed various Coronavirus mitigation steps for the next few days.

Details related to the surge in the Covid-19 infection must be submitted by the collectors belonging to 6 districts like Chennai, Theni, Ranipet, Chengapet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur etc. This was asked by the TN secretary Mr. Rajeev Rajan. The Centre would be made to know about these details regarding the surge of the infection. It is known that the Centre has been planning for total lock down in those districts with high cases and infection rate above 15%.
