Tamil Nadu State Government: No need to impose 100% lockdown on 1st May!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has informed the Chennai High Court THAT THERE IS NO NEED FOR IMPOSING 100% LOCKDOWN ON 1ST May (Saturday)!

With the counting of votes for the recently conducted Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections scheduled on 2nd May, Chennai High Court emphasized the State Government of Tamil Nadu, the necessity to impose 100% lockdown.

In this regard, the enquiry was conducted at the Chennai High Court. Tamil Nadu State Government explained that the vote-counting is scheduled on 2nd May and 2nd May being a Sunday, the lockdown has already been imposed on all Sundays! As such, there is no necessity to impose lockdown.

Chennai High Court ordered that Tamil Nadu State Government must decide in this regard and also regarding whether the press persons may be allowed during the vote-counting in progress and the decision must be informed to the Chennai High Court.

With this, the Chennai High Court ordered to adjourn the enquiry on this petition tomorrow (30th April, Friday).
