Residents in and around Nanganallur want MTC buses to stop near this point

Posted on: 08/Apr/2021 9:39:04 AM

Nanganallur residents demand this now!!

For the residents belonging to Ram Nagar and Thillai Ganga Nagar, MTC buses halting on the Southern Sector IRR would be superb.

Truth is that there is no halting point between Thillai Ganga Nagar subway and Vanuvampet halting points and Vanuvampet, Jayalakshmi Theatre, Jeevan Nagar, Adambakkam halting points. Various MTC buses like 14M, 18D and 76 etc passes through SSIRR is known.

It must be noted that route number 14M (operating between NGO Colony and Medavakkam Koot Road bus terminuses) 18D (operating between  Keezhkattalai and Broadway bus terminuses) passes through jayalakshmi Theatre halting point and St. Thomas Mount railway station.

Another MTC bus route number 76 passes through Thillai Ganga Nagar pedestrian and vehicular subway and GST Road, St. Thomas Mount. For the residents of Ram Nagar and Thillai Ganga Nagar, the nearest halting point is Vanuvampet halting point located at a distance of more than 1 km.

Halting points near and around Anandha Mahal would be highly beneficial especially to the senior citizens because they come in large numbers to the shrines in the weekends. This was according to a social activist named Mr. Raghavan, a resident of Nanganallur.

Truth is that the halting point near Anandha Mahal would help many commuters-residents to reach St Thomas Mount railway station/metro station and Alandur metro station easily. For going to Pazhavanthangal railway station, the commuters have been paying around Rs 50 and this has been due to lack of minibus connectivity along the interior roads belonging to Nanganallur.
