Students safety important - More examination centres for the class 12 students amidst the COVID wave

Following the increase in the number of daily Coronavirus cases, the DGE reviewed the preparations and this included increasing the number of exam centres for the students. It is well known that the TN government is firm on conducting the board examinations for the class 12 students.
The preparations have been going on in full speed to complete all exam related works within the stipulated time. This was according to a senior official belonging to the DGE.
All the identified board exam centres would be inspected by the district education officers and they would submit a report before April third week. The board examinations for class12 students in TN would start from 3rd May 2021.
For ensuring the safety of the students, the examination centres would be increased accordingly. It is true that the officials have been closely monitoring the pandemic especially the recent increase in the Covid-19 infections in TN. Information about the class 12 students have been submitted by the schools in TN. It is now said that the details of the students would be scrutinised and would be sent back to the schools for specifying any last minute changes in the data. By the first week of April, the final list of the students would be ready.
The official later mentioned that the schools have been given instructions to upload the internal marks. Practical exams would be conducted before 31st March. Point is that after receiving the practical marks the authorities would be generating hall tickets and this would be downloaded by the schools. Later, the schools would issue it to the students.
The teachers were asked to allay the fears of parents regarding sending their kids to the exam centres. The official concluded that declaring all passes (for class 12 students) has been ruled out as the marks would be important for the students for pursuing higher education.
