More than 6 crores seized from SRM Group companies

Income Tax officials who raided offices and premises belonging to the SRM Group have seized Rs. 6.75 crores in cash and documents that are incriminating. The SRM Group’s SRM University, SRM Technologies, SRM Electronics, SRM Learning Tree, SRM Transports, SRM Hospitals, SRM Hotels, SRM Media and Entertainment, SRM Engineering Constructions, SRM Power & Energy, SRM Publications and SRM Group of Institutions were simultaneously raided on Thursday.
‘About 250 officials of the IT department participated in the search and seizure operations in Chennai, Tiruchy, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Sonepat(Haryana) and Bangalore. Incriminating documents indicating receipt of donations, inflating expenditure, diverting funds of trusts and evading income tax were found’, said an official press release.
