Great news for Chennai Metro Rail passengers: fares down!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has responded positively to the appeal made by the public and accordingly released an order reducing the Metro Rail fares!
Details
- According to the revised fares, the present fares for the travel of a distance, 0-2 km is Rs. 10 and for 2-4 km, it will be Rs. 20, are being revised as Rs. 20 for 2-5 km travel in Chennai Metro Rail.
- For travel of 4-6 km, and 6-12 km, the fare was Rs. 30 and this has been revised to Rs. 30 for a travel of 5-12 km.
- The fare for travel from 12-18 km was Rs. 50 and this has now been revised to be Rs. 40.
- The fare for travel of 18-24 was Rs. 60 and above 24 km, it was Rs. 70. Now, this has been revised as Rs. 50 for travel for a distance of 21-32 km.
