Director, RMC, Chennai, Mr. S. Balachandran expressed his thoughts and spoke about how heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at the isolated places over Cuddalore and Ramanathapuram districts. He added that there would be heavy rains at isolated places over Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli etc.

Coastal warning issued to fishermen:

Information is that in anticipation of the squally weather, coastal warning has been issued to the fishermen. This was due to the cyclonic circulation over the Comorin Sea that extends up to 4.5km above the sea level. The truth is that the fishermen have been asked not to go into the Comorin Sea, Gulf of Mannar, Maldives, Lakshadweep areas over the next 24 hours of time.
