Many MSME units in Chennai badly affected due to Cyclone Nivar

Just when Chennai is getting back to normalcy after the shutdown due to Covid-19 (to contain the infection spread), things have changed again now. The heavy rains along with Cyclone Nivar have been responsible for the present scenario

Everything from normal life to the business and production units etc in Chennai has come to a pause mode now in this Cyclone Nivar. To ensure that the damage caused by the cyclone Nivar is minimal, the businessmen and entrepreneurs (having their units where the cyclone has passed) have indicated that they have learnt huge lessons from the 2015 floods and from the Cyclone Vardah in 2016.

There are many auto component parts industries and automobile industries in Sriperumbudur near Chennai. It is also known as Detroit of India. Information is most companies here have asked their employees not to come for work on Thursday. It was later brought out by an employee belonging to a car manufacturing unit that after the end of the first shift on Wednesday the employees were asked to go to their homes.
