More womens coaches in Chennai Metro trains

Next time, if you step into the first class coach in the metro train in Chennai then please be careful as It could be ladies only coach!!
Beginning from 23trd November 2020, all the first class coaches in the metro trains in Chennai would be converted into women’s only coaches. The main idea behind this was to provide more occupancy for the female passengers. This was according to CMRL. Point is that the conversion of first class coaches into women’s coaches is in addition to the already present women coaches in the metro trains.
Just similar to other coaches, the passengers travelling in the women’s only compartment would be charged regular fare only. The passéngers travelling in the metro trains are now watched closely for the sake of social distancing and this latest move from CMRL comes at this point of time. It was brought out by some officers of CMRL that additional steps have been taken to ensure the safety of the women passengers. The metro stations, trains have been installed with CCTV.
There are also customer care facilities for assistance plus security staff have been deployed at the metro stations. It is well known that metro trains have resumed their operation in Chennai from 7th September.
