The Minister of the State Government of Tamil Nadu for the Tamil People Welfare Development, C. Vijayabhaskar informed that the merit / rank list for admission to the medical graduate curses MBBS & BDS will be released on 16th November.

In this regard, he shared the following at |Trichy

“Over the last 64 years, the number of seats for pursuing graduate medical courses in the State of Tamil Nadu remained at 1945! Only during the period when the departed leader Jayalalithaa was the Chief Minister, an additional 1110 seats were set up. This has gone on to increase during the present government headed by the Chief Minister E. |Palaniswamy, and now, there additional 1650 seats thus doubling the previously available seats.

Further, a historic achievement of sanctioning a Tamil Nadu State Government Order for a 7.5% quota for the students studying in government high schools for admission to the medical graduate courses!

With the above historic order, for the students who studied in government high schools from the 6th to the 12th Standard, 302 students will be allotted a quota for pursuing medical graduation courses MBBS & BDS. For this purpose, the attested marks lists of the government schools students are obtained through the respective District Primary Education Officers to be scrutinized. Separate special squads have been set up for this activity in each district!

The above students can apply until 12th November. The merit/rank list will be released on 16th November. Counselling sessions will commence 2 days later. Despite the prevailing coronavirus pandemic situation, the counselling is being organised with strict adherence to the safety guidelines required!

There is no connection, whatsoever, between 7.5% quota mentioned above and the opposition party leader. This achievement was through the efforts of the ruling AIADMK Government only. No other party/persons claim the credit for this!

Reducing trend of the coronavirus spread:  Several countries, all over the world, have now been affected a 2nd round of the coronavirus pandemic!  As such, another phase of lockdown has been imposed in these countries including India!  However, the situation is different in Tamil Nadu. Actually, the intensity of the coronavirus pandemic has been reducing in the state of Tami Nadu!

As the states of Kerala and New Delhi had neglected the safety precautions to adhere during the recent festive season, the second wave of the raging coronavirus pandemic ensued!

Hence, here is an important appeal: The people of Tamil Nadu should be ultra-careful while celebrating the famous Deepavali festival! Presently, only 20% of corona-affected are treated by private agencies. We have r restricted the charges levied by these private agencies.  In case these private agencies/hospitals charge more than the prescribed limit, stringent legal action will be taken on the erring agencies/hospitals! So far, the operating licences of 8 hospitals have been cancelled!”
