In Chennai, the number of fresh or new COVID cases goes below 600 now

On Monday, 9th November 2020, Chennai recorded less than 600 fresh or new Coronavirus cases and this grabbed the attention of many. It is well known to us that Chennai has been reporting a huge number of cases ever since the pandemic broke out in March. Important information is that the overall Coronavirus cases and deaths have come down in TN now.
It must be taken into note that yesterday TN recorded 2257 cases and it includes 585 from Chennai city. Coimbatore district recorded 189 fresh cases yesterday. This is followed by Tiruvallur district, Chengalpet district and Salem district and they recorded 125, 113 and 105 cases respectively.
Yesterday, as many as10 deaths were recorded in Chennai city due to this Covid-19 infection and one each from 8 districts. In TN, the total number of deaths due to this infection is at 11362 now.
The total number of Coronavirus patients who got discharged after treatment in TN is 715,892 and as many as 2302 got discharged yesterday. On Monday, the number of active cases in TN stood at 18825. As per the bulletin issued by the state health department it was clear that on Monday 75277 samples and 74508 persons were tested for the Covid-19 infection.
