Technology to be used in the Chennai malls for luring more customers

Posted on: 01/Sep/2020 10:20:26 AM
In future, if you happen to see UV based scanning machines, foot sanitising mats, sensors at the malls in Chennai, then don’t get surprised.

The shoppers would be given new technology based experience by the shop owners in the Chennai malls after the malls get re-opened in Chennai. This would be for the shoppers in the new normal post Covid-19. There would be a new paradigm shift with foot sensitising mats, UV based baggage scanners, app based entry, parking and dining, purchasing through video calls and sensors for head count etc.

New features have been added by these air-conditioned malls in Chennai city and this would be in addition to the TN government mandated standard operating procedures or SOP.

The visitors entering the Express Avenue in Royapettah, could place an order at the food court and then collect the food after it is ready. This was according to Mr. Munish Khanna, CRO of EA.

He added that video calls or malls websites could be used by those who fear stepping inside the food courts or retail stores etc. Information is every store has a home delivery option also. People would be able to do both online as well as offline shopping as all omni channels would be activated.

Limited visitors would be allowed at the Phoenix Marketcity and Palladium and it is said that the customers might have to download Nhance by Phoenix smart phone app to plan their trips. This was mentioned by Pooja Patti, centre director, Phoenix, Market City and Palladium.
