More than 90000 students to get admissions in TN govt arts and science colleges

The first round of admissions would begin this week in TN and more than 90,000 students would get admissions in the 109 arts and sciences colleges.
This year, due to the Coronavirus infection, the Higher Education department would be conducting the admissions online for the students.
Beginning from 28th August till 4th September, the first round of admissions would take place. This was according to a circular issued by the DCE or Directorate of Collegiate Education. For the sake of completing the admissions procedure, the selected students would be intimated through SMS or email on 26th August to reach the colleges.
For just 90,000 seats that are available in the arts and sciences colleges in TN, more than 2 lakh applications were received by TNGASA or Tamil Nadu Government Arts and Sciences College Admissions website.
Point is for the sake of processing the applications that have been sent to various colleges in TN. It must be taken into note that DCE had given detailed guidelines for admissions to government arts and sciences colleges in 2020.
Guidelines:
The rank list must be prepared for each program offered by the colleges based on the marks. The merit list must be based on the reservation. Important information is if any student gets into the merit list for more than one subject then the college must contact him or her and seat preferred must be allotted.
In case the students cannot be contacted then the allotment must be based on the preferences he/ she had listed in the application.
Based on class 12 Tamil language marks, rank list for BA Tamil would be carried out, and based on the class 12 English subject marks rank list for BA English Literature would be carried out.
The rank list for other courses like B.Com, BSc, etc would be based on the marks scored in the subjects excluding languages.
