Increase in the new COVID cases in Chennai city again

After a few days of dip in the fresh Coronavirus positive cases in Chennai, the city is now witnessing an increase in the fresh cases.
On Friday, 21st August, as many as1292 fresh or new Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Chennai city and in TN there were as many as 5995 cases. Total number of cases in Tamil Nadu stands at 367,430. At present, there are as many as12708 active cases in Chennai. This also includes those under home isolation.
The district of Thiruvallur has 3923 active cases and it is second after Chennai and is followed by Coimbatore district with 3066 active cases. The state of TN witnessed 101 new deaths and the daily toll has reduced. There were as many as23 deaths reported in Chennai.
It must be noted that on Friday 36 deaths were reported from private hospitals and 65 deaths from government hospitals. Information is 93 persons had co-morbid conditions in them. In TN, till now a total of 6340 persons have succumbed to this deadly infection.
As many as5764 persons got discharged from the hospitals across TN. Till now, the total number of persons who have recovered from Coronavirus infection stands at 307677. In the last 24 hours, the total number of samples that were tested in TN was 74,344.
