Importance to be given for early contact tracing, testing etc to prevent Coronavirus spreading

To contain the spread of Covid-19 infection, it is important to concentrate on early tracing, testing and prevention. This was as per the WHO chief scientist Dr. Sowmya Swaminathan.
It must be taken into account that the CM of Pondicherry Mr. Narayanaswami held discussions with the WHO chief scientist and the meeting saw the presence of Mr. Ashwani Kumar, chief secretary, health secretary and collector Dr. T. Arun and a team from the World Health organisation.
Covid-19 control room in-charge Mr. Pankaj Kumar Jha briefed Dr. Soumya Swaminathan regarding various steps that has been taken by the government. After visiting the control room, the chief scientist from WHO spoke about how there must not be any slackening of these and how other medical services should be ensured.
She added that the home isolation in smaller houses would not be effective as the family members would also get affected easily. A separate place for isolation would be good in such cases.
For contact tracing works, the WHO chief scientist suggested taking the help of young boys and girls who have completed their school education along with para medical staff etc. In Pondicherry, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases was 2750 with 305 more persons testing positive.
