7-days isolation-stay mandatory for the Indians returning from abroad!

The central government released yesterday (Sunday, 2nd August), the revised rules and regulations including 7-days’ isolation-stay on their own expense being mandatory.

The Indians stranded abroad in the prevailing coronavirus pandemic are being brought back to India through special flight services. The Central Health Ministry released the Revised Rules and Regulations to be followed by these Indians yesterday (Sunday, 4th August).

Out of the rules and regulations, the most critical:

These Indians MUST KEEP IN ISOLATION FOR 14 DAYS (COMPULSORY).

Out of these 14 days, they need to be in isolation for 7 days at their own expense, and the balance 7 days they have to remain isolated in their residences.

The passengers of these special bring-back flights have to undertake a promise on the website; www.newdehiairport.in. Only the pregnant women, persons with death in the family, persons with serious illness, and the parents with children of less than 10 years of age will be exempted from the above mandatory isolation.

Those who want exemption must inform 72 hours before their travel giving details online. However, only the government has the authority to decide on this.

Apart from the above exemption, the passengers who had been tested for infection and confirmed with no infection are also exempted from the mandatory 14-days isolation. Thye should have uploaded the concerned test report on the net. Otherwise, this can be submitted to the airport after arrival in India.

All the passengers must have uploaded the App ‘Arokiya Sethu’ on their cell phones.

The above rules and regulations will also apply to the Indians returning by crossing the borders via roads on land.

While on the flight or on the ship for the return to India, the passengers must strictly adhere to the regulations such as wearing face masks, frequent washing of hands, etc. As soon as landing, they must submit the self-declaration promise form to the health officials at the airport. Those who had already uploaded on the net can get a copy of the form, fill up and submit.

Apart from those passengers who had received exemptions, the rest of the passengers will have to stay in isolation in the places arranged by the relevant states/Union Territories on their own expenses. 7 days as the isolated stay is mandatory.

In case the test for coronavirus is done and infection is confirmed, then, they will be sen to the hospital. Those without infection will be sent home after the 7 7-days isolation. And they have to complete the balance 7 days’ isolation in their residences isolated.

These revised rules and regulations will be effective from 8th August.
