Time extension granted for filing Income Tax Returns - Financial year 2018-19!

The time limit for filing the Income Tax Returns for the Financial Year 2018-19 has been extended by another 2 months.
In a notification in this regard released by the Department of Income Tax on its Twitter Page, it is mentioned that giving due considerations faced by the public/taxpayers in the prevailing coronavirus pandemic spread/resultant lockdown situation, and to simplify the avenues for filing IT returns, the time for filing Income Tax Returns for the Financial Year 2018-19 has been extended until 30th September.
As per usual procedure, the IT returns filing for the year 2018-19 must have been completed by April 2020. Due to the lockdown condition, the time extension for filing was made initially up to 31st July earlier.
