In TN, COVID patients and their families forced by house owners to vacate houses

From the month of March, Coronavirus infection has been creating huge issues for many in Tamil Nadu. The fear of getting affected by this infection has made many people think differently towards others.

It is now said that the house owners are forcing the Coronavirus patients and their families out of their houses. It must not be forgotten that in the initial stages of this infection the entire street was blocked to contain the spread.

Currently, the affected houses or apartment complexes get sealed by the Chennai Corporation. This was mainly done to prevent the affected persons from going outside their houses. This has made many house owners force COVID-19 patients and their families.

Tamil Muslim League founding president, Mr. V.M.S. Mustafa explained how due to lack of beds the TN government sent the asymptomatic patients for home quarantine for 7 to 14tdays. He added that these houses get sealed and this has made the house owners force these tenants to vacate their houses.

It is important to mention that in the case of institutional quarantine patients are put up in the institutions and their family members are forced to stay in the houses that are sealed. Many complaints were received where house owners have forced the families to vacate while the affected patient was in the hospital for treatment.

Mr. Mustafa was of the view that only the government would be able to solve this issue. To prevent the house owners from forcing the tenants to vacate, there are some rules. This was as per some social activists.
