TANGEDCO explains the latest Electricity Bill issued!

As lockdown had been imposed in the last 5 phases including the current phase as a preventive measure against the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic, the current consumption energy meter readings hard not been taken by TANGEDCO over the last 2 months.
However, energy meter readings are now being taken from the 1st week of June on a house-to-house visit.
In this regard to consumption reading, lots of complaints have been received that plenty of maloperations are being done!
Several consumers have been alarmed on this issue, including the popular Tamil film actor Prasanna.
As such, TANGEDCO has now come forward to offer an explanation in this regard of energy meter reading and recording:
As per the explanation, the energy meter readings are taken once every 2 months and the bills are also paid once in 2 months.
However, due to the lockdown situation, the energy meter reading this time has been taken after a gap of 4 months.
Thus, TANGEDCO has explained the last energy meter reading, taken after a gap of 4 months has been divided into 2 portions of consumption for 2 months each and the charges calculated as per this.
