Larger Corona cluster containment plan by the Chennai Corporation soon

The restrictions have been relaxed in more than 1000 containment zones belonging to Chennai. Soon, GCC would be implementing larger Corona cluster containment plan for the purpose of preventing the spread of Corona virus infection further.
Across the city of Chennai, identification of areas having large number of Corona virus cases has begun. This was according to Mr. G. Prakash, Chennai Corporation commissioner. It is worthy to note that the periphery of those clusters would be sealed and to monitor the borders of the clusters police personnel would be deployed. By this, the Corona virus would be kept within a particular area and its spreading to other areas could be stopped.
On Monday, Mr. Prakash visited Tondiarpet zone for the sake of inspecting the Covid-19 control work. He mentioned that 40 to 45% cases were from zones like Tondiarpet and Royapuram etc.
Point is GCC has already began implementing larger cluster containment plan in division 173 in Adyar zone and divisions 114 and 115 belonging to Teynampet zone. This has been done on trial basis.
To keep an eye on the borders of the clusters in a strict way, GCC has made a request to Greater Chennai police to provide young police personnel. The number of Corona virus cases would be lowered by focused interventions in the divisions.
For the last 14 days, no new Corona virus positive cases have been reported in 1000 containment zones and restrictions in these zones have been removed. This has shown that the containment area plan has been a superb success.
