Bharat gas consumers in TN can book their LPG refills using WhatsApp

The news that has emerged out now is Bharat Gas consumers would be able to book their LPG or Liquified Petroleum Gas refills by means of WhatsApp application from their mobile phones. Bharat Gas has got as many as 53 lakhs consumers in the state of TN.
It has been pointed out by a source that many consumers were comfortable in using WhatsApp application these days. Moreover, the company has been offering this option also.
BPCL smart line number is 1800224344 and it is now said that the consumers could save this number on their mobile phones and send ‘Hi’ messages from their registered mobile number or RMN.
In order to book the refills, the consumers have to send ‘Book’ or ‘1’, and then they would get confirmation messages regarding their bookings. Important information gathered is HPCL as well as IOC have been already offering a refill booking facility through WhatsApp for their consumers.
A source belonging to IOC mentioned how 10 percent of consumers use WhatsApp and 80 percent use IVRS or Integrated Voice Response System, 4 percent use company website, and the rest call up the gas agencies for booking.
A senior official later spoke about how so many choices were available for the consumers for booking LPG refills and how they were not looked up as an opportunity for cost reduction.
The advantages of booking LPG refills be using WhatsApp are amount need not be spent on local call for book over IVRS plus the feedback from the oil company is fast. It was brought out that sometimes the network congestion could lead to delay in the text message response but there would not be such delays in WhatsApp.
