Over 3000 Corona virus positive cases from just 3 Chennai zones, many areas removed from containment zones

Out of total of 9364 Corona virus positive cases reported till Friday, 3000 Corona virus positive cases have been from 3 important Chennai zones namely Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, Royapuram and Kodambakkam.
After getting treated for Covid-19, more than 3000 residents returned from Covid-19 care centres and hospitals. It is now revealed that the corporation has removed 517 areas from the containment zone list in Chennai. For the last 14 days, no positive case was reported and hence the areas were removed.
In Thiruvottriyur, 26 containment zones were removed, 9 in Manali, 18 in Madhavaram,43 in Tondiarpet, 98 in Royapuram, 93 in Thiru- Vi- Ka Nagar, 32 in Ambattur, 27 in Anna Nagar, 59 in Teynampet, 39 in Kodambakkam, 39 in Valarasarawakkam, 12 in Adyar, 6 in Alandur, 13 in Perungudi, 8 in Sholinganallur. The movement of public in these zones is not restricted now.
There are 635 containment zones in Chennai currently and in these zones Corona virus positive cases get reported. In zones like Royapuram, Thiru- Vi-Ka Nagar and Kodambakkam most of the containment areas are present. Important information gathered is shops at various places like George Town, Purasawalkam, T. Nagar and Mylapore has been given permission to open. This was after the shop owners have agreed to follow the norms.
