Central Home Ministry releases the 2nd Phase list of villages for industries to function from 20th April!

The Central Home Ministry has released the list of villages with the details of the sector of the industries which can start functioning even during the lockdown period from 20th April.

As the impact of the raging coronavirus pandemic has not reduced in India, the Prime Minister Modi was constrained to extend the 2nd Phase of Lockdown in the country until 3rd May. He further informed that some relaxation would be administered in the areas where the impact of coronavirus infection is less and economic activities would be allowed to resume.

As such, the Central Home Ministry has released the guidelines day-before-yesterday (16th April).

In this, the areas where the impact of coronavirus impact is less are identified and the list of the industrial sectors which will be permitted to operate have been furnished.

As per this, agricultural functions, goods transport, micro/mini/small industries, self-entrepreneur industries, fishing, and farming were allowed to resume.

In this situation, the central Home Ministry has now released the list of industries permitted to function in the villages.

In the notification sent by the Central Home Secretary Ajay Balla to all the State Governments and Union Territories, it is mentioned:

  • Agricultural activities in small forests ad harvesting activities will be permitted after 20th April.
  • Agriculture can be taken up in the mountainous forests where forests are grown on behalf of the scheduled category and the Ancient Tribes Category.
  • Construction activities, water management, piping maintenance, water supply related activities, drainage system-related activities, the activity of installing new pillar posts for electricity connection, repair work, and laying of fibre-optic cables for telecommunication are all permitted.
  • Non-banking, small-scale financial institutions (Micro and mini financing concerns) can all function with minimal staff. Cooperaive societies can also function during lockdown but with minimal staff.
  • Works related Rattan, Coconut, cocoa, perfume plants farming, harvesting, land maintenance, setting up for marketing can all be taken up during the lockdown period.
