‘My Stamp’ facility launched in Chennai

The ‘My Stamp’ scheme was launched at the Anna Salai Post Office on Friday. The new facility allows the user to create his or her own stamp to post letters or packages. The scheme was first launched in New Delhi in February of 2011. It then launched around North India including Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.
As per the scheme, the user can use his or her photograph as a stamp and send out their mail. Until now, only deceased famous personalities were showcased as stamps. The Post Master General of India Mervin Alexander and J. Sahatullah of Chenai’s Reserve Bank of India office were part of the opening function.
