By April, repair works begin between Maduravoyal and Sriperumbudur: NHAI

For the purpose of strengthening Maduravoyal to Sriperumbudur stretch, an amount of Rs 49 crores has been sanctioned. This amount has been sanctioned by NHAI that is responsible for the toll road.

The information collected is from the month of April work on strengthening this 23.km stretch on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway would begin. The tenders have been called already and bids would be received shortly for the work on 4-lane road. It is known that this stretch witness more than 85,000 passenger car units or PCU per day. There are also other 25000 two-wheelers and non-toll paying motorists who use this important stretch.

Point is work is being taken up presently as the proposed road widening would take time. As per an official belonging to NHAI, it is clear that the DPR for the elevated corridor is under preparation. 

There would be various activities like installation of reflector studs, road signs and lane markings etc and these would form a part of the work. Before the next monsoon season, the work would be completed. After the High Court has stepped in, the NHAI has speeded up the work and this was as per some sources belonging to traffic police. A police officer revealed that lighting n the road would be improved.
