With a new system implemented from this year, the 1st General common subjects Public Examinations commenced on 1st February (Saturday).

It is almost a regular occurrence for some form of problems to appear every year when CBSE public examinations are in progress - the various problems include leak / release of question papers, problems in correcting answer sheets, etc. With a view to preventing such complaints, CBSE has carried out certain changes with some protective arrangements and certain changes in the question paper format. It has carried out protective action in the answer-paper format as well!

As regards the question paper, as a new change, the question paper gave on Saturday (1st February) the right-side was in English and the left-side in Hindi.

As for the answer-sheets, unlike in the past so many years, in this year’s answer-sheet, OMR sheets were attached on the 1st page!

The registration numbers given to the students were of 8-digit structure instead of the 7-digit used until now. Also, the procedure on how to register this 9-digit code was explained in the next page of the answer-sheet.

CCTV cameras were set up in all the examination halls. The invigilators monitored the examination centres directly in person.

Subsequently, CBSE has ordered the commencement of correcting answer-sheets from 20th February.
