During an interview with the Tourism Agents and Press reporters conducted at Trichy on Tuesday (today, the Chief Manager of Nepal Tourism shared:

Nepal has boundaries with India on 3 directions - South, East, and West and in North with China.

Just like the many States in North India, Nepal also has the right pleasant climate for tourism and also there are plenty of interesting and important tourist spots to visit! The noteworthy tourist spots include Lord Buddha’s birth-place Lumbini, Pokhara, National Parks, Sky-diving, Jungle Safari, Rock-0climbing, Mountain-biking Elephant Polo games thus making Nepal as one of the best countries for touring.

As such, the government of Nepal has been taking various initiatives to promote tourism by the Nepal Tourism Department.

As per the tourism statistics for the year 2019, 1197191 tourists visited Nepal and out of this, the majority of 2.54Lakhs tourists were from India and them 1.68 Lakhs tourists from China.

The tourists from South Asian countries were 29.4%  and tourists from other Asian countries were 29.2%, tourists from America were 9.2% and tourists from Europe were 19.9%. Tourists from other countries were 3.7%.

As compared to the year 2018, the number of tourists visiting Nepal in the year 2019 has gone up by 10%.

The environmental conditions in Nepal and their culture have attracted tourists to a large extent. This is why there is an increasing trend of tourists every year!

From the India-Nepal boundaries, it is possible to reach the important mountain locations in Nepal within an hour.

Though Nepal is another separate country, special arrangement has been made permitting entry without VISA.  Even though Indian tourism does or does not have a passport, h/she can show the  National ID cards (Voter ID, etc)  to move anywhere inside Nepal.

Further, the facility to exchange Indian currency is added a positive aspect for the Indian tourist! The Master/VISA card issued by Indian Banks can be used in ATM devices in Nepal!

One of the foremost positive aspects is that Nepal culture, food, language, and religious traditions give the feeling as though still being in India only!
