These proceedings were century old and many devotees attended these proceedings at the ongoing Vaikunta Ekadesi festival at this highly popular temple in Srirangam. It is well known that this temple is regarded as foremost of Divya Desam temples and this is according to Vaishnavite belief. In the month of margazhi, that is from December to January, this temple in Srirangam celebrates annual Vaikunta Ekadesi.

Important information collected is the festival is celebrated for a time of 21 days in the pattern of Pagal pathu (day time celebrations for 10 days) and raa pathu (night time celebrations for 10 days).

Around 3:45 am in the morning on Monday, 6th January (first day of raa pathu), Namperumal was taken out in a procession from sanctum sanctorum. The procession passed through Rajamahendiran thirusuttru, Naazhikettan gateway and Vrajanadhi mandapam. Later, the procession passed through the paramapatha vassal or sorga vassal by 4:45 am.  Many devotees who patiently waited for the darshan in thousand pillar mandapam were delighted to see Namperumal before them.

On 26th December 2019, the Vaikunta Ekadesi festival commenced with the conduct of Thirunedunthantakam ritual and it attracted the attention of many. The festival would conclude on 16th January 2020 with Nammalvar Motcham.
