Potholes repairs done at 1000 locations in Chennai city now

The presence of many potholes has been creating many issues for the Chennaites is well known.
In north Chennai, the civic body has identified 1386 spots now. The patchworks have been taken up by GCC at more than 1000 locations n the non-bus route roads in the 5 zones.
For repair works, as many as 1386 locations on the non bus routes have been identified with an area of 24.918 sq kms. Patch works has been going in other areas and work has been completed in the identified locations in 2 zones.
Apart from the arterial roads, many interior roads were also damaged and this was mentioned by the some residents belonging to places like Tondirpet, Mathur, Vysarpadi etc. There are some interior roads in Vysarpadi and these roads are in poor shape. These roads must be repaired immediately before they become worse. This was as per a resident of Vysarpadi. In and around Manali, many interior roads are in bad condition and this was as per a Manali resident.
He revealed that main road like Pada Salai, which is a bus route, has been damaged and interior roads were also in poor shape and autos and cars could not ply on those roads.
As many as 211 locations have been identified by GCC in zone 1 (Thiruvottiyur) and these locations require repair works. It is clear that patch works has been completed in 21 locations and work is going on in 10 locations. GCC has completed 65 percent of patch works in identified locations in Manali zone.
