Different persons have different reactions to cold. In the summers or in winters, it is common that we might feel cold due to the air-conditioners.

It is said that when people around us are feeling fine and we feel cold then it is abnormal and we must get our health checked immediately. It is interesting to note that even men and women have different cold tolerance rates due to different resting metabolic rates. Point is an underlying medical condition might be revealed by feeling cold always.

Various reasons for feeling cold always are

Presence of anaemia:

Feeling frosty always could be due to anaemia. The absence of healthy RBC’s in the body is termed as anaemia. The RBC’s play the role of carrying oxygen throughout the body and if our body doesn’t make enough of RBCs then we might feel cold always. It must be taken into account that insufficient diet, inflammatory bowel disease etc might lead to anaemia as the body doesn’t get sufficient amount of iron to make RBC’s. Circulation gets reduced in the limbs and we could feel colder always.

Presence of hypothyroidism:

When the body doesn’t produce enough amounts of thyroid hormones then the condition is called hypothyroidism. It is known that hormones are responsible for the regulation of metabolism and due to lack of thyroid hormones the body finds it difficult to regulate internal temperature. Therefore, we could feel colder always.

Feeling sleepy:

The circadian rhythm changes when we don’t get enough sleep. This could lead to feeling frosty. In regulating the temperature of the body, sleep plays an important role. It is said that by getting the proper amount of sleep we could avoid feeling cold always. It is worthy to mention here that the body follows a 24-hour cycle and a slight change could disrupt the normal functioning.
