43rd Chennai Book Fair at Nandanam YMCA Grounds from 9th January!

The Booksellers and Publishers’ Association of South India (BAPASI) administrators have informed that the 43rd Chennai Book Fair is scheduled to be conducted from 9th January till 21st January for 13 days at Chennai Nandanam YMCA grounds.
There would be more than 8200 bookstalls. Around 1.5 Crores books would be on display/sales. Further, the fair is in 3 sections - Tamil, English, and Multi-media.
In order to provide entertainment to the visitors, arts and cultural programmes will be staged every day including contests participated by school students in elocution, arts, etc.
A separate enclosure is provided for screening documentaries and short films with a view to encourage the budding directors. Group discussions participated by Sahitya Academy winners and film celebrities would also be organised.
As mentioned above, more than 1.5 Crores books on lakhs of topics/subjects will be on display/sales.
So, the 43rd Book Fair is all set to be a veritable feast for the book aficionados!
