Paatiyin Kai Manam by WSquare - December 8th, 2019

Nostalgia and food are synonymous with our grandmother’s ancient style of cooking, that has not only been soulful to our heart but also strong for our body. Unfortunately, with modernisation, we are not only losing the importance of authentic Indian food created by our ancestors but also do not understand the unconditional values that senior citizens bring in our life in an attempt to unload responsibilities as burdens.

WSquare and India’s Pioneer Old-age Home for Destitute Women - Vishranthi Charitable Trust is proud to present “Paatiyin Kai Manam - Oru Parampabariya Unavu Vizha” in association with Dindigul Thalapakkati on Sunday, December 8th from 10 am to 6 pm.

The Food Festival will display a live food counter with Breakfast, Lunch and Tiffin throughout the day ranging from vazhaipoo vada, maravallikizhangu dosai, murungakeerai ada, red rice puttu, piranda thuvayal, kuzhipaniyaram, navadhaniya sundal, pooran poli and many more.

`Dindigul thalappakatti is honoured to be a part of this event, bringing our grandmothers love, their care and their soul with recipes that they have created and nurtured. At Thalappakatti we take great pride in our signature style that was created by the current MD`s grandmother. So when WSquare brought this idea to us, we were thrilled. I am sure everyone who comes will go back with fond memories of sitting in our grannies homes with the comforting aroma of spices and remembering the fond smile, a smile that only a grandmother can give her grandchild" says Deepika, Marketing head, Thalappakatti

The Grandmothers of Vishranthi will also be displaying products ranging from Karuveppilai podi, Paruppu Poodu Podi, Payatha Ladoo, Mullu Thenguzhal, Thukkada and more traditional items for sale.

“This is a Free Entry event where we want people to remember the memories of our grandparents with their soulful cooking. This also emphasises on the fact that Age is No Bar for women to be independent and invest time for themselves. It has been an amazing 2 months of putting together 40 Recipes with 120 Excited Grandmothers  wanting to contribute in every little way they can.” Said Jinal Patel, Co-Founder WSquare.

“This is happening at Vishranthi Charitable Trust in Palavakkam, and all sales made that day will go to the trust. It is important to understand elderly care in this busy world, and we wanted to come up with an innovative method of telling the world that there is a home for women who are left behind by families, at the same time as to why we still need them.” Srilekha Ramanathan, Secretary of Vishranthi Charitable Trust.
