Inauguration of electricity bill payment centre

An Electricity Bill payment Centre was inaugurated at the Perumbakkam Slum Clearance Board Residence Complex.
27000 homes have been built in the Perumbakkam-Semmncery Slum Clearance Board Complex.
Electricity has been provided for this residential locality from the Chitlapakkam substation. The residents had to cover a distance of up to 3 km to pay the electricity bills. So, the local residents appealed to the authorities to open a bill payment centre in this locality.
Heeding to this appeal, an electricity bill payment centre was inaugurated day-before-yesterday (Sunday, 24th November) in A. J. block in the building complex.
The officials from the Slum Clearance Board and TANGEDCO participated in this inauguration.
TANGEDCO officials informed that the EB payment centre will open only on Mondays and Saturdays during the initial stages. Depending on the public response, the number of the centre opening days per week will be increased.
