Sugar ration card can be changed into a rice ration card online: State Government of Tamil Nadu

The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the card-holders who have sugar ration cards can convert them into rice ration cards.
In a related notification released by the Department of Food and distribution of consumer food items, it is mentioned:
There are 10,19,491 family cards in the Tamil Nadu State under the PDS (Public Distribution System) are sugar ration family ration cards.
There was demand from these sugar ration family cardholders to convert them into rice family cards. This demand was accepted by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and this modified order is released now.
In case the sugar ration cardholders desire to change their cards into rice family ration cards based on qualification criterion, they can submit the application for the same with the copy of the ration cards and submit the same from today (Tuesday, 19th November) to 26th November or the internet website www.tnpds.gov.in to the relevant distribution circle officers or Assistant Commissioner.
The received applications will be checked and verified immediately and based on the qualification criterion, these sugar family ration cards will be converted into rice family ration cards.
