As public exam announced for 5thand 8th Standards, will the 3-term system get canceled?

As per the central government announcement, public examinations for the 5th and 8th standard students are set to be announced shortly. As such, the 3-term’ system (with 3 examinations - quarterly, half-yearly, and annual) presently followed is getting canceled. The official announcement regarding this is expected shortly.
‘Samacheer Kalvi’ (balanced uniform syllabus) academic system was introduced in the state of Tamil Nadu during the year 2010. At that t9ime, the 3-term system was introduced.
From the lower classes (1st to 5th Standard), the 3-term was implemented for the higher classes (6th, 7th, and 8th Standards). Thus, presently, the 3-term system is in practice in Tamil Nadu.
In this scenario, the central government has introduced the new academic policy. In this policy, among the various conditions/revisions, it has been stated that public examinations must be conducted at the primary and middle school conclusion levels of 5th and 8th Standards respectively. This proposal met with a strong protest from the parents, educationists, and social enthusiasts. Subsequently, the central government announced that this new academic policy will be announced after seeking public opinion and reviewing the same.
The State Minister of the Government of Tamil Nadu for education, K. A. Sengottaiyan, has been emphasizing up till now that there would be no public examination for the 5th and 8th Standards. However, the features mentioned in the revised academic policy by the central government are all set to be implemented. Accordingly, the public examinations for the 5th and 8th Standards will become mandatory.
Once this is implemented, the present 3-term academic system in practice will get canceled. The school education circles inform that an announcement regarding this would be released shortly!
