Railway signaling project: Tambaram - Chengalpattu (Rs. 6.54 Crores)

The project work of allaying a third broad-gauge railway track between Chengalpattu and Tambaram is in progress.
Presently, the preparatory activities for laying the signal cables have commenced. The project of installing the signal at Tambaram Railway Station and its surroundings has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 6.54 Crores.
An officer working in the project of the 3rd broad gauge railway track shared:
The preparatory work of installing the signal cables on the platforms of the railway stations on the 3rd broad gauge railway track has just been commenced. This work is in progress at section Guduvanchery - Singaperumalkoil.
In this project, electronic interlocking signals are to be installed in the junction point of the 3rd track in Tambaram Railway Station.
