At any skill level, the students could now work or look for work and there would not be any cap on the number of students who could apply. It is important to mention that the consultancy firms in TN have been flooded with inquiries and some of these inquiries have even come from those who had graduated in the past from the UK based educational institutions.

It is now brought out by the Department of Education that new work visa would be applicable to those who start courses from 2020-2021 at UNG or any other high levels. He threw light on how many students belonging to affluent families consider UK degree as their status symbol and waste their opportunities.  Enquiries are expected to go up to 40 percent from 25 percent prior to the announcement and this was according to Mrs. Deepa Srinivasan, branch manager of IDP Education, Coimbatore.

It has been revealed that one year master’s programme of UK has got advantage over 2 years master’s programmes of other countries and many students prefer to go to UK. This was as per Mr. Prabhakaran Srinivasan of Imperial Pathways. He later hinted about how some students want to return to UK for another programme and how these students could avail 25% alumni discount plus renew their efforts for jobs.

According to Mr. Aladi Arun, CEO, AK Consultants of Madurai, many students want to study outside India and return back to their bases after working for few years. The ‘New Graduate Route’ scheme would not apply to the students presently enrolled in various programmes. This was mentioned by Janaka Pushpanathan, director, south India, British Council.
