Simpson subway to government estate metro station to be linked

Are you one amongst those commuters who use subway that connects Simpson & Co with the government multi-specialty hospital on Anna Salai? If yes, then this news would surely bring you happiness.
It is now said that the commuters would be able to walk into the government estate metro station by using this subway in another 2 months. Important information is work to connect the metro station with the subway has started and this was according to the officials of CMRL.
An official spoke about how the subway would be linked with the metro station at the concourse level. It must be noted that at this concourse level a commuter gets tickets. Minor renovation work would also be carried out on the subway soon. Information is currently the government estate metro station does not have great patronage and just 2500 people travel through it every day.
The officials are now hoping that the patronage would be more if the metro station is connected to the subway. They revealed that CMRL is in the process of getting more people to use the feeder service and by this patronage would get better. It must be taken into account that Chennai Central metro station has got multiple subways connected to it at the concourse level.
