For building immunity in the people, nilavembu kudineer to be supplied in Chennai

In the recent times, the residents of Chennai have been waking up with news about the increase in the dengue fever and other fever cases. Important point is many Chennai hospitals have been reporting about the increase in the number of dengue and other fever cases too.

It is revealed that to deal with the rise in the number of above said cases the state health department has stationed vehicles carrying 1000 litres each of nilavembu kudineer across 15 zones of the Chennai Corporation. It must be taken into account that this nilavembu kudineer is herbal concoction that would help in building the immunity. Information collected is 4gms of nilavembu kudineer powder has to be mixed in 400 litres of water and boiled till it reduces to 100 millilitres.

In the next step, filtration of the liquid is done. Point here is the product must be consumed inside 3 hours of time. The superb piece of information is the state health department would be supplying ready to drink dose and this must be taken once in a day for a time of 3 days.  

The vehicles carrying this ready to drink nilavembu kudineer would be available in the same location for a week of time. This was as per the state health minister, Mr. C. Vijaya Baskar. Many government hospitals also have this herbal concoction and it is sold over the counter in pharmacies and in other retail outlets. The health minster then spoke about how preventive measures have been taken for vector control. He hinted about how the fogging machines would be used. It is worthy to note that hospitals have got special wards with adequate staffs and equipments.

The state health minister later explained about how the hospitals in Chennai have been reporting spike in the dengue cases and how the health department have been encouraging people to visit the hospitals on day one of the fever.

It must not be forgotten that in the past many people died due to dengue because the people did not consume enough water and by the time they reached the hospitals on the 3rd or 4th day people were dehydrated. Point to be noted is there are adequate doctors, nurses, equipments available now and deaths due to dengue could be prevented. This was also confirmed by the health minister. There are also post- febrile wards in the hospitals in Chennai and those patients admitted for dengue treatment would be monitored for 48 hours after fever had settled.
