A facility to access the status of reservation introduced in the IRCTC website!

A new facility, known as ‘Charts/Vacancy’ has been introduced in the official website of IRCTC to access details on the final status of train reservations and the available vacant seats.
With this, the passengers on the waiting list, can personally access the details regarding vacant seats, approach the Ticket Inspector and get seats as per the waiting list!
The details regarding whether the seats have been booked for the full-distance journey or part-distance journey can also be accessed.
This facility has been introduced as a measure for improved transparency and also to prevent misdeeds pertaining to the reservation system.
The 1st list will be available 4 hours before the scheduled start of the train and the 2nd list would be available 30 minutes before reaching the final destination station.
After the release of the 1st table, details of the status of reservation at that time, ticket cancellation, etc., can be accessed. From the 2nd table, after entering the details of the traveling train number, name, date of travel, the starting station, the final status can be accessed.
