This move by the TN government would reduce the evaluation time of students answer sheets

Correcting the examination answer sheets of the students is a time consuming work. Till now, many teachers take long time for correcting the answer papers of the students and as a result of this the teachers spend less amount of time for the classes.
It is now said that the state government has got plans to digitise tabulation of marks across all government schools in TN. The main advantage is the teachers might be able to devote more time to the classes and less amount of time in correcting examination papers. Presently, the evaluation is being done manually is known.
For the purpose of evaluating board examination answer scripts of the students, digital tabulation would be used from the next academic year. It was later pointed out by a senior official belonging to the school education department that their department received many requests from teachers as well as from the principals of government schools for streamlining evaluation.
The information collected is teachers spend huge amount of time in tabulating results and due to this they struggle to complete the syllabus on time. Suggestions have been invited from the teachers and educationists to implement the plan. The process is being worked out and it would be notified to the schools soon. This was as per an official.
It must be noted that some time back the education department caught the attention of many when it announced that it would introduce digital report cards on pilot basis at select government primary classes. Point is the main objective was to digitise all process beginning from the evaluation of answer sheets to providing report cards. This was as per some department authorities.
It is worthy to note that the government has already introduced QR codes in textbooks and also trying out smart classrooms in the government schools. Information is for the benefit of 60,000 government school teachers, the Delhi government had announced that it would begin digitising the exam data tabulation. It is known that there are more than 37000 government schools in TN with more than 2 lakh teachers and more than 44 lakhs students study in these schools.
