On Sunday, MRTS services to be cancelled

Many Chennai residents use MRTS as a mode of transport. It is now said that for the purpose of maintenance works, many MRTS or Mass Rapid Transport Services operating between Chennai Beach and Velachery would be cancelled on Sunday, 8th September 2019.
It must be taken into account that on Sunday line block would be taken up for 6 hours between 7:50 am and 1:50 pm and because of this 18 pairs of EMU or electrical multiple unit services from Chennai Beach and Velachery would not be functioning.
It is important to note that the train services from the Chennai Beach station would begin at 2 pm in the afternoon and the train services from the Velachery station would begin at 2:10 pm. It is well known that MRTS began its operations in Chennai in the year 1995. MRTS was constructed at a cost of Rs 11710 million and it covers a distance of 19.34 kms.
