1-litre drinking water at Rs. 5 through ATMs!

The district administration of Nilgiris has indulged in a new effort banning the use of plastic bottles from the coming 15thAugust.
In order to cater to the needs of drinking water for the tourists, the district administration is setting up arrangements for getting drinking water through ATMs in the areas Paraliyar, Coonoor, Ooty, and Koodalur.
The Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya informed that when the tourist needs drinking water, a coin of Rs. 5 can be inserted in the special slot provided in the ATM and get 1 litre of water! This would facilitate the reduction and prevention of the use of plastic water bottles.
