Tripathi assumes office as DGP Tamil Nadu

J.K. Tripathi assumed office as the Director General of Police (DGP) of the state of Tamil Nadu.
He promised that topmost priority will be accorded to maintain Law and Order and to prevent crimes.
The function of assuming office of the new DGP was conducted at the DGP office in Chennai Mylapore.
ADGPs (Additional Director Generals of Police), including the Chennai ADGP A. K. Viswanathan participated in the event.
The new DGP Tripathi was received with band and music and a grand reception was accorded to him.
Once he assumed office, he took over from D. K. Gajendran. Outgoing DGP Gajendran offered a bouquet welcoming the new DGP and had a short review session with him.
Subsequently, the new DGP had a session with the press. He conveyed his thanks to the government for giving him an opportunity to serve the people of Tamil Nadu. He promised that topmost priority will be accorded to maintaining Law and Order and Prevention of Crimes.
