Job openings in rural village banks - MVKM IBPS announcement

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the selection examination through which the vacancies for the posts of staff and officers in the rural or village banking of several public sector banks such as Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, and Canara Bank, etc., and also, Andhra Pragati village bank, Tamil Nadu Gramiya Bank, Karnataka Gramiya Bank, Manipur rural bank, and Punjab Gramiya Bank, etc.

In the recruitment protocol, the preliminary and the Main written Examinations will be conducted in the 1st Phase by IBPS. Subsequently, the interviews will be conducted. A mark certificate qualifying the candidate will be issued based on the pe3rformance of the candidates in the above 3 schedules.

At the same time, India’s largest public sector bank, the State Bank of India (SBI), conducts written examinations on its own for the recruitments to be made in SBI. Excluding this, for all Indian citizens interested in pursuing a job in the village/rural banks, a pass in the IBPS examinations is mandatory.

Presently, IBPS has released an announcement to conduct an examination for the recruitment to fill up the vacancies in the village banks for the posts of Group-A officer and Group-B Office Assistant (Multi-purpose).

Details of posts and qualifications

Post: Office Assistant (Multipurpose) - MVKM 3688

Qualifications: Candidates must be graduates in any faculty with experience of working on computers. The candidate must also be fluent/conversant in the local language in the candidate’s preferred locality.

Age Limit: Candidates must be in the age group 18-28 as on 1st June 2019.

Post: Officer Scale-II (Agriculture Officer) - 106

Post: Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer) - 693

Qualifications: Candidates must be graduates in any of the faculties - MVKM preferably, Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. They must have also studied computer operation. It is also preferable that the candidate has 2 years of experience working in banks or other financial institutions.

Age Limit: < Candidates must be in the age group 18-30 as on 1st June 2019.

Qualifications: Candidates must have passed a graduate course in Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in the faculties of Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, or Information Technology. Otherwise, the candidates must have completed CA (Chartered Accountancy) or MBA (Stock market science or Finance). Or, the candidates can be graduates in agriculture or veterinary science.

Age Limit: Candidates must be in the age group 21-32 as on 1st June 2019.

Post: Officer Scale III - 157

Qualifications: Candidates must be graduates with a minimum of 50% marks in any of the faculties - MVKM preferably, Banking, Finance, Marketing,  Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. They must have also studied computer operation. It is also preferable that the candidate has 3 years of experience working in banks or other financial institutions.

Age Limit: Candidates must be in the age group 21-40 as on 1st June 2019.

Selection procedure: In the 1st Phase, IBPS will conduct the preliminary and main written examinations.  Based on the performance in these 2 written examinations, candidates will be selected for the next phase of interview.

Candidates successful in the interview will be given provisional appointments. After the required training/coaching, the candidates will be issued permanent appointment letters.

The candidates must show the originals of the required certificates/documents and also a set of self-attested copies of the same while attending the interview.

Further, the candidates need to submit a printout of the online application and the receipt of payment of fees.

Fees: For the open community and OBC cadre, the fee is Rs. 600. For the backward community/SC/ST/ Ancient Tribe/e/differently-abled cadre, the fee is Rs. 100. This can be paid online only through credit card/debit card/net banking. Once making the payment, please download the e-receipt and keep it safe.

After the scrutiny of the applications, the qualified candidates will be informed regarding the details of the written examination through e-mail or SMS to the mobile phone.

Immediately on receipt of the above information, download the call letter from the IBPS website, affix the photo at the allotted place and take it for the examination.
