Admissions for MBBS/BDS go online for the first time ever in TN now

The latest news is DME or Director of Medical Education has called for the online registration of applications for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses under the state quota in the government colleges and self-financing medical colleges that comes under TN Dr. MGR medical university. It is now said that this would be the first time the above mentioned online registration of applications for medical admissions would be taking place in TN.

Since Friday morning, the link for online registrations has been available on the state health department website http://www.tn.health.org/ and in the state selection committee website http://tnmedicalselection.net. It is important to mention that by evening as many as 12,584 applications were downloaded and as many as 7741 candidates have made final submissions. This has been brought to light by Mr. G. Selvarajan who is the secretary of state selection committee.

Important information collected is although the applications can be made online, the students would have to send the hard copy of the application along with the attachments for verification of the documents.

The state health minister, Mr. C. Vijayabaskar mentioned about how complete online counselling was tried and how the department had decided to go offline in this year because of the need to do verification of the documents like nativity certificate etc. For the economically weaker section of students the state of TN has not decided on implementation of the quota. The minister revealed about the possibilities of getting additional seats on implementing but it is not yet decided.

The superb information is the state of TN has got as many as 23 government colleges offering as many as 3250 seats this year. There are some state managed colleges like Sir Rajah Muthiah Medical College, IRT Perundurai, ESIC College in KK, Nagar and these colleges would have 350 seats. In addition to this there are 15 self-financing medical colleges in TN.

Information kiosks have been set up in all government medical colleges like MMC in Chennai and the main objective of this is to help the students register online. There are few districts in TN that do not have government medical college and it is now said that in these districts TNEA facilitation centres would be available at Murugappa Polytechnic College in Thiruvallur, Government College of Engineering in Krishnagiri, NKR Government Arts College for Women in Namakkal, Government Arts College in Nilgris, Chikkana Government Arts College in Tiruppur, Government Arts College in Ramanathapuram, GTN Arts College in Dindigul, Ariyalur based Government Polytechnic College.

The important information is TNEA facilitation centres would also be available in Valivalam Desikar Polytechnic College in Nagapattinam, Perambalur based Government Polytechnic College, Virudhunagar based VV. Vanniya Perumal College for Women, Dr. Rajah Muthiah Medical College in Chidambaram and IRT Perundurai Medical college etc.
